When we released our first foray into music videos on Tuesday, we expected that we would get a few likes from friends and family and that would be that. Wow, were we ever wrong! I don't think either of us expected the response we got, even from people with no previous connection to us. I think there were about 4 "shares" within the first morning. People left wonderful comments and it has excited a lot of interest. This is the 25th video that we have made and it has certainly hit the mark with people. Sterling is a very talented videographer and I would urge you to go take a look at some of his other work on our site vimeo.com/theartiste.
Thank you to everyone who has shared, liked, commented. Your words and actions mean more than you can ever know. I would love to hear your opinions on which other songs you think would make good videos. You can also read more about the making of the video HERE Thank you!

Sunday's are usually pretty boring chez Aura. This one definitely wasn't! I was being interviewed by Fantasia at 8am for her Notebook Society slot. I had the last minute "OMG, what do I wear?" moment but pulled myself together and turned up. Fan and I sat chatting about stuff while Lola (Lionheart) got the camera and sound sorted. It will be interesting to see how it comes out, but I don't think I squeaked or panicked too much. I hate hearing my own voice played back though so I will probably squirm all the way through it hahah.
I barely got turned around after that and it was time to head to TNS for the show. Luciano kicked it off with an amazing choice of songs. Seems like we have similar tastes. He started off with "Fragile" by Sting, which I had been practicing all day for an upcoming show, which made me chuckle. The four acts on the official bill were all superb. Such great characters. It was a thoroughly enjoyable show and I was sorry to have to leave but I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. I think to pay 200L to see 5 great performances like that is such an amazing bargain, especially when it is going to a good cause. Watch out for the next TNS show. Sterling and I made it along to The Rose Theater last night to see Luciano Lionheart return to Second Life. I think we can safely say it was "Most Triumphant"! The show was dazzling and I was amazed at how many people they managed to pack in. The show was a charity event for Cancer and by my count there was something like 42K in the pot by the end of the night. Amazing generosity.
Luciano certainly sets the bar high for professional performers in-world. It's always an inspiration to see good performers on SL stages. I strive to uphold a professional attitude in my work and I do work hard at it and hopefully that shows in my performances. However some of us have had the benefit of being on real-life stages and having had tuition. Let's not forget that there are a lot of performers in SL who haven't and they still get up and sing their hearts out with true passion. Huge Kudos to them, because it takes guts to do it. Next time you listen to someone sing in-world, ask yourself what it took that person to be doing what they are doing....and give them some encouragement :) |
